Day 2 The Day from Hell

Tuesday 5th August

Contrary to popular belief Rob (TL) decided that we would go via Dartmoor and Prince Town to see the View!!!

Bottom hurting

Pasties at 330m we were told we were at the top yet we discovered that we had still another 110m to climb.

1 dead Garmin!! it did not like the wet!!

Meet The Team

The Team members are Rob and Mike Latham, Ness Jackson and Ian Maynard.

Mike and Ian are members of the Rotary Club of Mendip, which is based in Cheddar Somerset.

Rob and Ness live in Dubai. The Idea for the trip came from Rob, who last Year completed the Absa Cape epic mountain bike ride and decided he needed a little less challenging trip this Year, he phoned Mike and said I have a question for you and the answer is YES, the question was would Mike like to ride from Lands End to John O Groats on a tandem in August 2008, after some consideration due mainly to the fact he had not riden a bike for over 35 Years, Mike answered the question with a Yes!

Over the last 14 months Ness and Ian were enlisted to ride with Rob and Mike and it was decided that if we were going to ride all that way, we had just as well do it for charity.

We are riding for different Charities, Rob and Mike for the Shelterbox trust which is an international project of The Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard, Ness is riding for a maternity wing at the Illam rural hospital in Napel and Ian is riding for Polio Plus which is a Rotary International project.
